Glassware in the Wild (product photography)

by
Studio Franche

Artist: Jeffe Van Holle

Studio Franche is the Antwerp-based glass blowing studio of designer Jeffe Van Holle, whose custom-blown pieces - glasses, vases, ashtrays - carry the particular warmth of objects made entirely by hand. For this project, I took his work out of the studio and into the wild, travelling through France and Spain with the pieces in tow. The result is a series of product photographs made at the coast and on the beach, between rocks, sand and water, in conditions as far from a controlled studio as possible. The contrast between the fragility of the glass and the rawness of the landscape is where these images live.
